Scotland 2016 – Day 7

Day 7 and unfortunately I had to leave the B&B and head off for my first night of Glamping.  Firstly I headed to Eilean Donan Castle – apparently the most photographed Castle in Scotland (according to the guidebook).  As advised by David at the B&B, I asked nicely if I could park up and take a picture of the Mini with the castle in the background.  Suddenly Bella became the most photographed car in Scotland!

Next I headed for the Applecross pass.  I’d been looking forward to this, so I stopped and waited before heading up the pass to let the Honda Jazz in front of me get someway up…  I really enjoyed the pass, and the view from the top was amazing!  Applecross was really lovely too, and I had some lunch in the Applecross Inn.

I then began the journey to Cannich Woodland Campsite, with a quick stop at Rogie Falls.  The sign said you might see Salmon between July and September.  I thought I might be lucky on the 1st July and I was!  I saw some salmon trying to make the leap up the falls.  Unfortunately I did not manage to get a photo though!

After a play with an Old English Sheepdog who is also staying on the campsite I’m all set for a night in my Pod.  Tomorrow I will go in search of the Loch Ness Monster…

    1. Lunch at the Inn was good! Applecross was lovely – I couldn’t beleive how blue the water was. I did remember not to sit there – and I could see exactly why you said it! That table was actually reserved… Unlucky people!
The midges got me again the first night in the pod but I’ve got some stuff now – I couldn’t find Skin so soft anywhere though 😦
